Mulato Collective is a collaboration between jazz guitarist Jean-Jacques Rojer and drummer/producer Ralph Durgaram and features Grammy award winner Pernell Saturnino on percussion and Tony Worrel on vocals. The recordings were made in Curaçao between 2011 and 2013 and although primarily formed as a studio project the band was already a headliner at the first Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival in 2010.

Mulato Collective has also been fortunate enough to count on the collaboration of world class musicians like Cuban star trumpet player Miguelito Valdés amongst many others. The musical concept behind the project was to fuse native instruments from Curaçao with other instruments and music styles from the Caribbean and Brazil.
